Password protection gates a Smart Link behind a password — anyone who clicks it has to enter the right password before they're sent anywhere.
Setting one up
- Open a link's targeting page and find the Password protection card.
- Enter a password and click Protect link.
- Save — the link now shows a password prompt before it redirects.
Once a visitor enters the correct password, they're not asked again for the rest of that visit — the unlock only lasts for that one browsing session, not permanently, so a new visitor (or the same person back a few days later) sees the prompt again.
Changing or removing it
Enter a new password and click Change password to replace it, or click Remove protection to go back to a normal, unprotected link. Removing protection doesn't affect anything else about the link — targeting rules, A/B tests, and click history all keep working exactly as they did.
Password protection is available on Creator and up (see plan comparison). If you downgrade, a password already set on a link keeps working exactly as it did — you just can't add password protection to a new link until you upgrade again. See Understanding your plan's features.
