How to Create Amazon Affiliate Links for Multiple Countries

The full registration-to-routing process for creators whose audience spans more than one country.

Step 1: Identify which marketplaces actually matter

Pull up your traffic analytics and look at country breakdown before registering anywhere. Prioritize marketplaces with consistent, meaningful traffic — amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.ca are the most common additions after amazon.com for an English-language or North American-adjacent audience, but let your actual numbers decide, not assumptions.

Step 2: Register separately in each marketplace

Each Amazon marketplace runs an independent Associates program. Apply through that marketplace's own Associates signup, and expect to go through the 180-day new-account requirement (at least 3 qualifying sales within 180 days of applying, or the account closes) independently in each one.

Once approved in multiple marketplaces, Amazon's OneLink tool can tie the tracking IDs together so a single configured link redirects to the correct marketplace automatically — but remember its one major limitation: it only works for links embedded on a website you own, not for links shared as standalone URLs (bio links, captions, QR codes). See Amazon OneLink explained.

Step 4: For anything outside your own website

For bio links, video descriptions, or any link shared as a standalone URL rather than embedded on a page you control, use a tool built to localize a real shareable short link — detecting the visitor's country and swapping both the marketplace and the registered tag for that marketplace, the same job OneLink does, just for links that live off your own site.

Step 5: Set a sensible fallback

Whatever you use for routing, always configure a default destination for visitors from a country you haven't specifically registered in — usually your primary (often US) marketplace, so nobody lands on a broken link.

A realistic timeline

Approval isn't instant in any marketplace, and new accounts face the 180-day qualifying-sale clock the moment they're approved — plan registration for your next market a few months before you expect meaningful traffic from it, not the week you need it live.
